Florida baseball caused quite a stir last week when Brandon Neely was ejected against Georgia for daring to show emotion after getting a big-time strikeout in the 8th inning. The braindead decision left Neely unavailable against South Carolina over the weekend.

Part of what salvaged the moment for Gator fans was Jac Caglianone’s subsequent grand slam in the bottom of the 8th, followed by the robot celebration.

The moment has now received the breakdown treatment from popular YouTube personality Jomboy.

Florida Baseball: Lip reading at its finest

As the breakdown shows, Neely got out of a big jam in the top of the 8th inning and simply yelled out “Let’s go!!!”

Compared to other things we’ve seen in college baseball this season, it was a tame celebration.

That didn’t matter to the home plate umpire as he immediately tossed him from the game. Once to the dugout, Neely let them know the decision was, um, soft.

Fans were left just as confused and when Kevin O’Sullivan came out to argue the decision the umpire told him “We’re not doing that right now.”

Do you man, but doing what? Saying “Let’s go!”? That’s the line now in college athletics? Because if that’s the case then no one can show emotion ever again.

After Caglianone hit the grand slam to officially put the game out of reach, he walked around third base and did the robot walk across home plate.

To quote Jomboy, “It’s only so much of a non-celebration that it is a celebration,” pointing out that Caglianone was openly mocking the umpire, which the umpire deserved.

Hopefully, by a personality like Jomboy shedding light on this incident, it can further highlight how ridiculous of a decision it was to eject Neely from the game. What’s done is done, but as the SEC tournament and the NCAA tournament are fast approaching, the intensity of the games is only going to further rise and if this happens during one of those games there might be riots in the streets.
