10 biggest Florida football NFL Draft busts of all time
Florida Football NFL Draft bust No. 3: CJ Henderson
2020 Draft, Round 1, Pick 9
Jacksonville Jaguars, 2020-2021
Carolina Panthers, 2021- Present
One could argue that Vernon Hargreaves had his career undone by injuries. The same can’t be said for CJ Henderson.
Henderson took the mantle from Hargreaves and ensured that his side of the field was a no-fly zone during his three seasons with Florida football.
The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Henderson with the ninth overall selection in the 2020 draft.
Blame it on the Covid season or blame it on Henderson not adjusting to the NFL, but he lasted one season in Jacksonville before he was traded to Carolina for a fifth-round pick.
His time in Charlotte has been okay, but nothing great. He was arrested for carrying an unregistered gun and three grams of marijuana in 2022, but he did appear in all 17 games for the Panthers in 2022 and was credited with six pass deflections.
