10 biggest Florida football NFL Draft busts of all time
Florida Football NFL Draft bust No. 8: Clifford Charlton
1988 Draft, Round 1, Pick 21
Cleveland Browns, 1988-1989
Here is all you need to know about the NFL career of Clifford Charlton; the only picture of him we could find in our database is the one above.
Except he’s not the guy with the ball or number 22 looking to make the hit. Clifford Charlton is number 58, just hanging out in the background of this play.
To this day, Charlton is fourth on the all-time sack list for Florida football, amassing 25 sacks while in Gainesville, including 11 during the 1986 season.
Cleveland drafted him with the 21st overall pick in 1988. And because very little good ever comes out of Cleveland, Charlton had two pedestrian seasons with the Browns before a knee injury ended his career.
According to LinkedIn, Charlton appears to work as a Sports Coordinator with the city of Orlando.
