We here at Hail Florida Hail have chronicled several QBs that have hit the transfer portal. And as we know, Billy Napier wants to bring in another QB for Florida football for the 2023 roster.

The transfer portal carousel moves quickly, and five more QBs have hit the portal over the last two days; we will see if any of these QBs would be a good fit in Gainesville.

Florida Football Transfer Portal Madness: Ben Bryant

There are certainly reasons to be intrigued by Cinincinatti QB Ben Bryant. As the starter for the Bearcats last year, Bryant threw for 2,700 yards, 21 TDs, and had a completion percentage of 61.2%.

His QBR, the ESPN version of the stat, was 57.1, good for the top half in the country.

He was also sacked 25 times, the 37th most in the country.

Bryant seems like a competent but not elite QB. His 2022 campaign ended after a season-ending foot injury. He claims he would have gone to the NFL draft if not for the foot injury, which has since healed.

He has been in a QB battle for the starting job with Emory Jones.

Yes, that Emory Jones.

And not that Jones was a bad QB during his time with Florida football, but his deficiencies were very apparent once the Dan Mullen window dressing wore off.

The battle was allegedly still ongoing and wouldn’t be decided until the fall. So if you want a guy that might not beat out Emory Jones, then Ben Bryant would be your guy.
