Speaking of former highly-rated guys that can’t seem to win a starting job, Harrison Bailey entered the transfer portal yesterday.

Rated the third-best pro-style QB in the class of 2020, Bailey committed to Tennessee and made a handful of starts for the Vols in 2020. In fact, his first career start was the 31-19 victory Florida had over Tennessee in 2020.

Bailey was 14 of 21 passing for 111 yards with zero interceptions in the game, but he was replaced in the fourth quarter.

As we know with Tennessee, Hendon Hooker took over the starting job, and Bailey made his way to UNLV. The problem is that Bailey couldn’t beat out Doug Brumfield for the starting job in Las Vegas.

The potential may be there, but you might not be the best option if you can’t beat out Doug Brumfield.
