Florida Football Recruiting: Jordan Pride’s film after decommiting from FSU
It may be the Spring Game, but Florida football is hard at work taking players from the Neighbors to the West. Four-star safety Jordan Pride announced he was reopening his recruiting process and he would not be honoring his commitment to FSU yesterday.
Multiple projections now have Florida as the front-runner for his services.
We take a look at his film to see what Billy Napier is going after.
Florida Football: Pride and Joy
Pride is listed at 6’2″ and 175 pounds, so he has about 30 pounds he’ll need to add by the time he gets on a college campus.
His film does get a little confusing at first because he started the 2022 season at IMG Academy, but then transferred back to his home school of Blountstown High School. So midway through his junior season film his jersey scheme completely changes.
What he showcases though no matter what team he is on is a player that has a very good understanding of the safety position for a junior in high school. He reads plays well, breaks to the correct routes, holds the outside edge as needed, and makes open-field tackles with consistency.
He’s not necessarily one looking to make game-breaking plays all the time, he’s one simply doing his job and doing it well.
He has verified track times of 11.01 seconds in the 100-meter dash and has cleared 1.82 meters in the high jump (5’11.5″). These are solid marks but nothing groundbreaking that other top-tier prospects can’t achieve and surpass.
But Pride is a competitor and has a very good understanding of what is asked of him. He will be in The Swamp tonight for the Spring Game as Napier and crew try and complete the flip.
And given the lack of safety depth for the Florida Gators right now, Pride would go a long way in restocking the depleted room.
