Florida Football: Scooby Williams
We saw bits and pieces of Williams last year as an inside linebacker. Most notably, he rotated with Shemar James during the USF game when Ventrell Miller was hurt, and it did not go well.
Listed at 6’2″ and 238 pounds, Williams is big for an inside linebacker, and this Spring, Napier wants to try and use some of his size and speed as an edge rusher.
There has been some confusion about what position Williams is playing. He is listed on Florida’s website as an Edge guy but has also been seen taking reps as an inside linebacker.
Realistically, though, his home will be on the edge if he does consistently get on the field. With James probably getting paired up with one of the transfer linebackers on the inside, it’s doubtful Williams sees time in the middle.
