Florida basketball continues to get involved with talented players in the transfer portal, as Golden is now pursuing a pair of teammates transferring out of C-USA.

Aly Khalifa and Brice Williams are leaving Charlotte and are in the transfer portal.

Both guys are hearing from other SEC schools and many programs across the country looking to fill their roster with one or both of these guys.

If Golden can pull off a package deal commitment, they would fill a lot of holes on the Gators’ roster.

Florida basketball: Aly Khalifa

The first of these two we’ll talk about is Aly Khalifa. Khalifa is a 6’11’ sophomore from Egypt, and he has an elite combination of size and shooting that makes him a problem for opposing defenses.

Aly is hearing from SMU, Vanderbilt, Clemson, and many others. His skill set will translate well wherever he goes.

This season with the 49ers he averaged 11.7 points per game, 6.3 rebounds, and shot 51.1% from the field.

Khalifa had a 20-point performance in Charlotte’s win against Eastern Kentucky in the CBI Championship.

Don’t let his size fool you either. Aly is a great shooter from anywhere on the court. He shot 38.1% from three-point range and 74.4% from the free throw line, both of which improved from his freshman season.

Khalifa would solve two problems for the Gators, size, and shooting. He would be an instant impact starter if he decided to play for Golden.

Florida basketball: Brice Williams

The second guy from Charlotte that Golden is going after is junior guard Brice Williams.

Williams is a great scorer and has good size as a guard standing at 6’7”-215.

This past season he scored 13.8 points per game and grabbed 5.3 rebounds, and has seven games where he scored 25 or more, and three 30+ point games.

Like Khalifa, Williams is a good three-point shooter with a 39.7% rate last season and a career-high of 43.1% from deep in his sophomore season.

With the departure of Kyle Lofton and Trey Bonham, the Gators are in need of a point guard in the portal. With Walter Clayton Jr. deciding this weekend, it’s a good idea for Golden to have a few options to fill that hole if things don’t go his way.

We don’t know if Khalifa and Williams plan to go to the same school, but they would be a great combo out of the portal for the Gators.
