Florida football: Did Anthony Richardson boost his stock at Pro Day?
Florida football hosted its Pro Day today, and plenty of Gators got a chance to show out and show NFL Scouts and GMs what they can do.
But most eyes in the building were on Gator QB Anthony Richardson, who many people around the NFL think is almost a lock to be drafted in the top ten in this year’s NFL Draft.
While he didn’t take part in any of the workouts like the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, and so on, he still showed off his arm and threw the ball all over the field.
And during today’s workouts, Richardson only helped himself as draft day gets closer.
Florida football: Freakish arm talent
While he was throwing earlier today, Richardson was airing the ball out downfield on a vertical route and hit the ceiling of the practice facility.
The best part about this is that it was planned. When his day was done, Richardson told reporters, “I saw Will Levis do it so I had to one-up him.”
So no, it wasn’t an erratic throw by AR. He knew he had the strength to throw the ball out of the building, so he did it.
Aside from just showing off how high he can throw a football, AR opened a lot of eyes with his throws today. He was very consistent downfield, which has been an area of concern throughout this process.
He even got the stamp of approval from Carolina Panthers legend Steve Smith Sr.
The Carolina Panthers, who hold the No. 1 pick in the draft, were well represented in Gainesville today as they decide what to do with their pick. Back when Carolina had the 9th-pick, Richardson landed with the Panthers in a lot of mock drafts.
There’s still a chance that he could end up there with the show he put on at Pro Day and the NFL Combine.
Keep up with Florida football at Hail Florida Hail.
