Florida football is starting to make a major impression on the class of 2024, as we keep seeing top-level recruits including the Gators in their finalists.

Last night, the Gators made the cut for a top-ten receiver on the 2024 cycle.

4-star wideout Chance Robinson announced his top eight schools, which featured the in-state Gators.

Other schools on his list were Auburn, Ole Miss, Penn State, and others.

247 Sports has Chance ranked as the 53rd-best player in the country, and the 6th-best receiver in the cycle.

Being a wide receiver at St. Thomas Aquinas comes with a certain level of respect in the recruiting world, and Robinson has more than earned it.

In the 2022 season, Chance caught 29 balls for 540 yards and 13 touchdowns, making him the leading receiver for his 14-0 STA team.

Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports says that Robinson “seems to be at his best when he’s just trying to get vertical on the outside. Tracks the ball well once it’s airborne and has shown that he can twist his body in order to make a play.”

Well, the tape backs that up.

Like we’ve said over and over again, landing Chance is very important for the Gators from the perspective of keeping in-state talent where it is.

The Big 3 in Florida won’t be elite again if they keep letting out-of-state schools waltz in and poach the best players in Florida. And for our purposes, we only care about UF, so Napier and his staff need to lock down the Sunshine State.

Robinson has a bunch of the big dogs in college football recruiting him hard, so the Gators need to exploit every advantage they can to land him. One of those advantages could be 5-star QB commit DJ Lagway, who Robinson would love to have throwing him the ball.

Landing Robinson can help restore the St. Thomas Aquinas to Gainesville pipeline, and propel the Gators 2024 recruiting class.
