Florida football hasn’t been shy about going after recruits that are committed to their rivals, and Napier is continuing his aggressive approach to the 2024 recruiting class.

Yesterday, the Gators extended an offer to Tawaski Abrams, who is currently committed to Florida State.

Abrams is ranked as the 242nd-best player in the class of 2024, and the 37th-ranked wideout in his class. He committed to FSU back in January of this year but has said that he will be taking all five of his official visits, meaning that his recruitment is far from over.

Perhaps Abrams’ most impressive quality is his speed. He’s able to turn any play into a big one, and is very crafty in space.

Andrew Ivins called him, “One of the best in the Sunshine State when it comes to dancing and juking his way out of trouble.”

Abrams also runs track which gives him another chance to showcase his elite speed. As a 10th grader, he posted eight sub-11.00 times in the 100 meters, with his best time being a wind-aided 10.62.

In his junior season, he caught 37 balls for 429 yards and five touchdowns. He also got some good snaps at running back, with 248 yards and two scores on 21 carries.

Abrams is a true utility guy on the offensive side of the ball. He can play just about anywhere on the field and is able to make a game-changing play when you put the ball in his hands.

Landing Tawaski would be another step in locking down the state of Florida on the recruiting trail. Sure, him going to FSU wouldn’t be someone poaching him from out of state.

But the Gators need to beat both schools from other states and their instate rivals if they want to become dominant again. Landing Abrams would be a great place to start.

Keep up with Florida football at Hail Florida Hail.
