Florida Gators News: Jerrick Gibson taking visits, gymnastics sets record
Jerrick Gibson, the number one running back in the nation that at one point was committed to the Florida gators, announced on his Instagram and to Chad Simmons of On3 four of the schools he’s going to take an official visit to.
Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and Tennessee were the four schools announced that he would take a visit to over the summer.
And while Gibson has returned to Gainesville multiple times since de-committing, including recently making an appearance at their junior day, the Florida Gators were not on his list of schools.
Gibson does have one more school he can take an official visit to.
Billy Napier does have four-star running back Chauncey Bowens committed for 2024, but getting Gibson would certainly be a statement for the recruiting class.
Florida Gators gymnastics bounce back
After suffering, their first defeat, last week to LSU, Gators gymnastics came back with a vengeance against Kentucky on senior day.
Florida posted a score of 198.150, it’s second-highest score of the season, to better Kentucky’s 197.575.
The win clinched the SEC regular season title for Florida for the fifth straight season.
There were no 10s on the night for the Gators, but Florida set a program record on the uneven bars.
Kayla Dicello, Trinity Thomas, and Leanne Wong all posted a score of 9.975 and in total Florida posted a score on the apparatus of 49.800.
Next up for Florida will be a highly anticipated showdown with number one-ranked Oklahoma in Norman next Friday.

Odds and ends
After suffering, a crushing defeat to UCLA, Florida Gators softball bounced back during their four game invitational in California.
Florida knocked off UC Riverside 7-0 to move to 11-1 on the season.
Elizabeth Hightower continued her flawless season as she pitched all seven innings and has yet to allow a run this season.
Florida with two games today, including a match up against 22nd-ranked Oregon.

Coming off of a collapse against USF, the baseball team recovered to knock off Cincinnati thank you game one of the three games set.
Behind Cade Kurland going 3-5 with a homerun, Florida powered its way to a 13-6 victory.
The two squads will meet again today at 4 PM.
