Florida football and Billy Napier are making a run at an elite recruiting class in the 2024 cycle. They already have their QB committed in 5-star DJ Lagway, and Myles Graham, a linebacker, is a 5-star on a few sites.

Now, the Gators are making a push for a top-100 athlete out of the state of Georgia.

Kylan Fox, who is listed as both a tight end and athlete, recently narrowed his list down to 15 schools. The Gators were on it, alongside a few other big-name programs.

Florida will be competing with Alabama, Ohio State, Auburn, and many other schools interested in securing Fox’s signature.

247 Sports has Kylan ranked as the 86th-best player in the class of 2024, the 10th-best athlete, and the 16th-best player coming out of Georgia.

He plays both defensive end and tight end, just to give you a sense of the kind of athlete that this guy is. Being able to be an effective pass rusher, as well as being a threat down the field in the passing game is a skill that not many guys possess.

One interesting thing to note about Fox’s top-15 list is that UGA didn’t make it. We’ve seen guys from just about anywhere in the country put Georgia in their finalists over the past few years, so it’s curious why Fox, a guy from Georgia, didn’t include the Dawgs.

Kylan already has great size, standing at 6’4”-208, with plenty of room to add muscle mass once he gets to college.

The addition of Fox would be huge for the Gators for a few reasons. First, it will continue the pattern of elite talent committing early to the Gators’ class. Second, it will show that Napier is able to compete with the big dogs on the recruiting trail despite not having the same on-field success.

And third, it will just feel nice to take a player out of Georgia that the Dawgs offered. They’ve been coming into Florida and taking who they want for a few years now.

Time to flip that script.

Keep up with Florida football at Hail Florida Hail.
