Florida Gators: Keyontae Johnson collapses

Probably the scariest incident on this list, Keyontae Johnson was a first-team All-SEC player in 2020, the season that was cancelled because of reasons.

As the world tried to figure out its new normal, Florida was playing Florida State on December 12, 2020, when Johnson seemingly out of nowhere collapsed on the court. He was placed in a medically induced coma for three days but did make a recovery.

It was later revealed that Johnson had acute myocarditis, which leads to inflammation of the heart.

Johnson’s incident was earlier similar to what later happened to Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin. Now if you want to go down the rabbit hole on why these incidents have happened, do you. But it should be noted that Johnson had tested positive for Covid in the summer of 2020, and one of the known side effects to contracting Covid is inflammation of the heart.

Johnson has made a full recovery and is now playing for Kansas State.
