Florida football has an opportunity to make a big splash on the recruiting trail this weekend, as a top prospect will be making his decision.

4-star ATH Ju’Juan Johnson announced his top three schools and set a commitment date yesterday.

His top three are Florida, LSU, and Colorado, and he’ll be committing on Saturday, February 4th at 10:30 am. He’s from Louisiana, so this will be 11:30 to us fans on the east coast.

Johnson is a big-time prospect out of Lafayette, Louisiana. 247 Sports has him ranked as the 225th-best player in the country, and the 4th-best player coming out of Louisiana.

Johnsons is a major do-it-all guy. He plays wideout, and corner, and has a lot of reps under center as well. In his junior season, he threw for 4,140 yards and 43 touchdowns, while also running for 1,346 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Like a lot of other elite athletes coming out of high school, Ju’Juan ran track as well as played football. He has a verified 9-3 broad jump and ran a first-place 400-meter race at Louisiana regionals as a sophomore with a time of 50.87.

Landing Johnson would be huge for Napier as he continues to build an impressive 2024 class. The commitment of Adarius Hayes moved the Gators up to 7th in the country per 247 Sports, and 3rd in the nation according to On3.

Adding Johnson would get the Gators up near the top 3 on every service. It would also be a big get to steal an elite prospect like Ju’Juan out of Louisiana. Napier came from the Ragin’ Cajuns and is looking to do some damage to LSU after they passed over him in their coaching search.

Nabbing an in-state guy from a team like LSU, especially after they beat UF this past season, would say a lot about how well the Gators are recruiting right now.

Keep up with Florida football at Hail Florida Hail.
