The annual Senior Bowl will be held this Saturday. The annual event is being held on the campus of South Alabama and will feature 120 seniors and juniors all looking to improve their draft position for the NFL draft.

The most valuable part of the Senior Bowl isn’t just the game itself, but the ability to interact with NFL coaches that may target them for the draft.

The Florida Gators have two participants in the Senior Bowl for the 2023 edition.

Senior Bowl: Richard Gouraige

Richard Gouraige was a mainstay along the offensive line in Gainesville over the past four years. Entrenched as a starter for the last three, Gouraige held down the fort at left tackle and was a big piece in Florida’s rebuilt offensive line.

As recently as 2017, Florida was allowing 3.4 sacks a game, near the bottom of the country. Gouraige arrived on campus in 2018 and in 2021 the Gators only allowed 1.2 sacks a game, the 8th best in the country.

Gouraige is listed at 6-5, 308 pounds and will probably need to add some weight to hold up as a left tackle in the NFL. He currently projects as a third-round draft pick.

Senior Bowl: O’Cyrus Torrence

O’Cyrus Torrence only spent one year in Gainesville, but his presence is hope that Billy Napier not only has an eye for talent, but also the ability to develop it. Torrence was a low-rated, three-star prospect that was ranked 1,697th in the country coming out of high school.

Fast forward to 2023 and Torrence projects to be a first-round draft pick in the NFL.

Torrence transferred over to Florida from Louisiana when Napier also left Louisiana. Playing RG this year, Torrence helped lead the Florida Gators to a rushing attack that averaged 5.3 yards per carry, the 13th best in the country.

Torrence is listed at 6-5, 347 pounds, so size is not a concern for him at the next level. A solid Senior Bowl showing can cement his first-round status.
