Florida football: Gators land commitment from Adarius Hayes
By Will Thomas
Florida football has a lot of elite recruits on campus this weekend, and one of them just announced his commitment to the Gators.
Adarius Hayes has committed to the Florida Gators.
Hayes, a four-star edge rusher out of Largo, Florida, named the Gators the leader in his recruitment a few weeks ago.
The Gators have been burned by being the “leader” in some recruitments in the past, but it looks like Adarius meant it.

Adarius picked the Gators over Georgia, Kentucky, Iowa, and others. Keeping in-state talent at home has been a priority for Napier since he took over, and landing Hayes goes a long way in gaining momentum on the Gators’ home turf.
247 Sports Composite Rankings has Hayes as the 61st-best player in the class of 2024 and the 7th-best edge rusher.
Adairus is also ranked as the 12th-best player in the state of Florida.
Landing Hayes today is huge for recruiting momentum. Hayes is one of the many visitors the Gators have on campus this weekend, and he now joins DJ Lagway as Gator commits currently in The Swamp.
If some of the other guys in town see Hayes and Lagway committed to the Orange and Blue, and maybe get a little sales pitch from those guys, they could swing toward the Gators in the next few days.
Hayes is the 4th commitment that Napier has gotten in the class of 2024. He joins DJ Lagway, Myles Graham, and Chauncey Bowens in a class that is currently ranked 7th in the nation.
As I said before, Hayes’ commitment could start a major domino effect on Florida recruiting. If they can land the pledges of a few more guys on campus this weekend, we could see Gator recruiting start to trend up in a major way.
Keep up with Florida football at Hail Florida Hail.
