The fallout from the Jaden Rashada saga has gone far and wide and has been the source of great frustration for the Florida Gators. At the heart of the saga is whether or not Rashada was actually offered $13 million in NIL money to come to Gainesville and whether or not that deal was taken off the table.

In the past couple of days, members of the national media, including Dan Patrick and Colin Cowherd, have picked up on the story.

Perhaps most damming for the Florida Gators was the front page treatment the story was given on ESPN.Com yesterday.

Most of the media has painted the Gator Collective as inept  and one of the common critiques aimed at Florida is why you offer $13 million for a QB when no one else in the market is offering that much.

Florida Gators Gymnastics Rolls Tide

The scores were not quiet as high as they were the week before, but gymnastics had no problem taking care of Alabama last night in Tuscaloosa. The Florida Gators scored 197.325, down half a point from last week’s meet, but it was enough to beat ‘Bama by almost a full point (196.425).

Florida did most of their damage on the uneven bars, outscoring the Crimson Tide 49.425 to 48.675 on the event. Kayla Dicello, Trinity Thomas, Leanne Wong, and Victoria Nguyen all scored at least 9.90.

Next up for the Gators is Georgia at home next Friday.

Shelton keeps it going down under

Former Florida Gators tennis star Ben Shelton is having quiet the debut at the Australian Open. Shelton took on Australia’s Alexei Popyrin in the third round and it was his smoothest match yet, winning in straight sets 6-3, 7-6. 6-4.

He is the first former Florida Gator to make it this far in any Grand Slam tournament. His round of 16 match will be against fellow American J.J.Wolf. Time is still to be determined.
