Florida basketball got a much-needed win over Georgia over the weekend. A big comeback where the offense started to finally click, and a great win over Mike White’s Bulldogs.

Unfortunately, it only gets tougher for the Gators. Tomorrow, they’ll head to Baton Rouge to take on the 12-3 LSU Tigers.

LSU is coming off of a bad road loss to Texas A&M, where they just got beat around the court. Coming home off a tough road loss is occasionally a good spot for a team, so let’s hope the Gators can spoil that.

All eyes on this one will be on Colin Castleton. After a sensational game against Georgia where he had seven blocks, he has a tough matchup against the Tigers.

KJ Williams, the LSU big man, is one of the premier players in the SEC. He’s scoring 18.2 points per game and grabbing 7.7 rebounds per game, both of which lead his team.

At 6’10”-250, he has similar size to Castleton, but his ability to score the ball from multiple places on the court makes him a very tough guard.

On the flip side, Castleton will have to have an efficient day on offense to keep the Gators in it. Williams only averages 0.9 blocks per game, so Colin may be able to get the ball over KJ and into the basket.

Florida could also use another good game from Myreon Jones. The energy and shooting he brought to the floor last weekend changed the game. It made Florida more dynamic scoring the ball, and his three steals helped generate opportunities in transition.

Look for Alex Fudge to have a good game as well. He played for LSU during his freshman season last year before transferring to Gainesville. In a revenge spot, we may see him emerge and play at the level he did early on in the season.

This would be a huge win for the Gators. Going on the road to a rival and winning their second in a row would flip a switch and make this team dangerous.

Keep up with Florida basketball at Hail Florida Hail.
