We here at Hail Florida Hail have said our peace on Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei and his pursuit for a new home outside of South Carolina. While Uiagalelei is certainly an intriguing prospect, he does not need to be the new QB for Florida football in 2023.

While there is still some smoke out there that provides Uiagalelei a pathway to wind up in Gainesville, the people who make set the betting odds on these sorts of things are not confident Billy Napier will have (or wants) Uiagalelei in The Swamp next year.

Florida Football: The house always wins

Bookies.Com released odds this week giving insight on where Vegas believes that Uiagalelei is going and the odds on favorite to land his services is…

UCLA.

At +250, Bookies.Com has Uiagalelei with a 28% chances of winding up with Chip Kelly. Oregon isn’t too far behind at +400 (20%), and there is a +500 chance that Uiagalelei stays in the ACC with Virgina.

But after Auburn at +700 comes our beloved Florida football team at +1000 (9%). Coincidently enough, it’s the same odds given to the Gators’ matchup in the Las Vegas Bowl: Oregon State.

These odds indicate that while Napier might be kicking the tires with Uiagalelei, there doesn’t seem to be genuine interest from either side. Most of the smoke surrounding the Gators seems to be around Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman or NC State QB Devin Leary.

If the odds were higher for Florida, Vegas would be indicating that they have insider knowledge about Uiagalelei wanting to come to Gainesville. And at the end of the day, Vegas only cares about making money.

So if you were on the DJ Uiagalelei train, you may want to save yourself too much emotional energy because the people who know best have that train leaving for the west coast.

Florida football will be fine without him.

Keep up with all things Florida football with Hail Florida Hail.

Next. Billy Napier should stay away from DJ Uiagalelei. dark
