Florida basketball suffered a tough loss earlier in the week at home against FAU. Despite another great performance from Colin Castleton, the rest of the team couldn’t quite do their part.

Now, Florida drives up to Tallahassee to try and get a win against FSU. Despite the loss earlier in the week, the Gators have a reason for optimism on the road.

FSU has looked terrible. They’re 0-3 with losses to Stetson, UCF, and Troy, all by at least seven points. This isn’t your daddy’s Leonard Hamilton squad.

Still, the Gators will need to come ready to play if they want to get back on track with a win.

Florida basketball: How to watch the Gators

The game tips off at 8 pm on the ACC Network because they’re on the road. It’s their second straight game off of the plus networks. Pop the champagne.

Florida basketball: Things to know

As if he hasn’t been dominant enough this season, this is a great matchup for Colin Castleton to have an awesome performance. The Nole’s primary big man is Cameron Corhen, a 6’10” freshman who is only averaging 3.7 rebounds per game and 0.3 blocks.

Colin should clean up the boards and have his way scoring down low. The guys they should look out for are Cam’Ron Fletcher and Darin Green Jr.

Fletcher has been a do-it-all guy for them with 11.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and a little over one assist a game. Green is the bigger scoring threat, putting up 16.3 points per game and dishing out 2.3 assists.

The game is likely going to be decided based on how the Gators shoot the three-ball. They’ve been struggling from deep all season, which causes empty possessions and allows the opponent to get a quick push back toward their basket.

The first road game of the season is always tough too, even if it’s only in front of 27 fans.

The Gators have struggled against FSU on the hardwood the last few years, so this would be a big win for Todd Golden early on in his UF career.

Keep up with Florida basketball at Hail Florida Hail.
