Florida football is beginning game prep for their trip up to Nashville to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores. After back-to-back wins, UF looks to keep their momentum rolling, and Vandy is looking for their second SEC win since 2019 after beating Kentucky last week.

The good news for Florid as we head into this game is that Vandy is still Vandy. Not very good.

And Florida has seemingly turned a corner since the Georgia game and has started to play much better on both sides of the ball. This has translated into the Gators being heavy favorites as they go on the road.

Florida football: Odds against Vanderbilt

The Gators go into this game as the biggest favorites they’ve been this year against an SEC foe. They opened up at -14, with a price of -630 on the money line.

Two weeks ago, nobody would’ve bought that this Florida team could be two-touchdown favorites against anybody, nonetheless on the road. Now, the offense is running other teams over, and the defense is starting to find itself.

Offensively, the Gators should be good to go this weekend. The Commodores are ranked 91st in the country in rush defense, and the Gators have the 11th-best rushing offense in the nation. This my friends is what we call a good matchup for Florida.

Defensively, the improvement of that unit from two weeks ago has been incredible. As a plus, Vandy is tied for 86th in the country in total offense. This has a Gator blowout written all over it.

The over/under is set at 57.5. I don’t ever lock in a play this early in the week, but if you want to play this game I’d take the under right now. With the rushing attack of the Gators milking the clock, as well as the defense shutting teams down, this number will plummet before kickoff.

There’s tons of value on the under, and there still will be unless we see it drop to around 51.5.

We’ll get in-depth later in the week, but our current predictions are Gators -14 and under 57.5.

Keep up with Florida football at Hail Florida Hail.
