Florida Football: Confidence meter for last four Gator games
The Florida Gators are 4-4 and while they won’t win anything of significance, the final four games will make the difference between a season we can live with (8-4 with numerous close losses) or an abject disaster at 4-8. The road won’t be easy for Florida football, with Brenton Cox being dismissed from the team and Keon Zipperer announcing he is out for the season with an injury, but the road is completely possible.
The Gators have four games left:
- Texas A&M
- South Carolina
- Vanderbilt
- FSU
We look at the ESPN FPI matchup predictor but also offer our own two cents on how confident we are the Gators can pull out the victory for each game.
Florida Football: Texas A&M is a cult
ESPN FPI – Texas A&M favored with 67% confidence
Hail Florida Hail – Florida favored with 55% confidence
Texas A&M is a train wreck right now. Dudes are smoking in the locker room, Jimbo Fisher looks like Fisher Price, and their whole yell thing is weird. There are a lot of parallels between this A&M squad and the train wreck LSU squad Florida football took on last year.
Don’t remind me how that one ended.
A&M has been competitive in their last three defeats, all by six points or less. They were one play away from defeating Alabama.
They also squeaked by Miami, squeaked by Arkansas, and lost to App State.
Given the state of Texas A&M, this is a game that Florida football should win. But the Gators can’t stop the run and A&M’s lead back Devon Achane has 765 yards. and this game is in College Station.
