Florida Football: Six plays that could have flipped Gators season
Florida Football: What is a sack anyway?
There are probably 10 plays we could pick from the LSU game that would have changed the outcome (mainly the 10 third-down plays Patrick Toney’s defense couldn’t get a stop).
Ironically, the one good play the defense made is the one play we would like to flip. Trailing 42-21, Richardson ran for a touchdown that should be remembered forever but will be forgotten because of the defense.

Florida then managed to get a stop, finally and scored again to make it 42-35.
Then Jason Marshall got an interception, and it looked like Florida football was able to pull off a miracle. Except Gervon Dexter sacked the QB and in modern football, you can’t do that.
Based on how the rule is called in the modern day, it is the correct call even if there was nothing Dexter could have done differently. Had the pick been allowed to stand, Florida would have driven down, scored, gone for two, scored, and won 43-42.
At least in my mind.
