Florida Football: Jalen Kimber’s one shining moment

USF was supposed to be a bounce-back game for the Gators. The Bulls are not good and after a frustrating loss to Kentucky, it was a chance to recover before heading to Tennessee.

Except Ventrell Miller was out and no one else for Florida knows how to stop the run.

Florida’s own run game was solid and picked up yards when needed, but things like Richardson throwing a goal line fade that turned into an interception kept the offense from scoring at will.

The game ultimately came down to a USF field goal attempt that sailed wide. Had it gone through the game would have gone to overtime. But that isn’t the play that saved the Gators.

Jalen Kimber’s pick-six is what ultimately saved Florida. From a scoreline alone, Florida loses if you take those seven points off the board. And if he doesn’t make the interception, USF probably drives down the field and scores points of their own.

Kimber has had some struggles this season, but his moment against USF saved Florida from eternal embarrassment.
