Florida football is finally back in the SEC win column, as they beat Missouri for their first SEC win in almost a year.

It wasn’t pretty. They didn’t dominate. And it felt like the offense would never score again at times. But with the help of the defense creating turnovers and Anthony Richardson looking like a new player in the second half, the Gators improved to 4-2 on the season.

Florida football: Jaydon Hill needs the game ball

After coming back from ACL tears and making his first start last week, Jaydon Hill made himself known to Gator fans this afternoon.

He had two huge interceptions, one of which he took all the way back to the house. It was UF’s only touchdown in the first half.

His second pick may have been just as valuable, even though it wasn’t a house call. As the third quarter was winding down, Missouri was driving in the red zone with a chance to tie the game. On third and six, Cook threw the ball into 1-on-1 coverage, and Hill came away with it.

Jaydon was a walking momentum shift today and is a huge reason that the Gators came away with a win.

Florida football: AR looked shaky, but got it done

In the first half, the Gators had 65 total yards. Richardson looked indecisive and didn’t appear to want to run the ball.

He even had some members of Gator Twitter calling for Jalen Kitna to play the second half.

But AR came out hot in the second half, and the offense got rolling. He only threw for 66 yards, but the ground attack was lethal.

Montrell Johnson Jr. ran for 86, Etienne got 83, and AR had 45 on the ground himself, including a clutch 4th down scramble which lead to a Gator TD.

Not to mention the absolute laser he threw to Pearsall for a TD early in the 4th.

It didn’t look great at times, but a win is a win. Now it’s time to keep it rolling and take on LSU next weekend.

Keep up with Florida football at Hail Florida Hail.
