Florida football: Great Gator moments Aaron Judge would have ruined
If you are a fan of Florida football, you probably support other teams as well but when the Gators are on you only want to watch the Gators. This is not unique to Florida fans as countless college football fans want to spend their Saturdays watching college football.
You aren’t looking for NFL highlights, soccer scores, NHL preseason reports…
*Announcer cuts in*
We interrupt your Hail Florida Hail article to take a look at Arron Judge chasing history. He is looking to be 7th on the all-time home run list. And that’s ball four. Back to you Ben.
Judge finally hit his 62nd home run yesterday and the regular season ends today for Major League Baseball. We finally can stop having our college football be interrupted by watching four pitches go outside the zone.
While Florida football didn’t fall victim to any of the ESPN cut-ins, plenty of other games around the country did and it made us wonder what great moments in Florida Gators history could have been ruined by watching Judge walk.
Florida football: Walk this way
“Bradford drops back, he throws it deep, Major Wright is coming to break it up…”
And the bottom of the third here in New York. Pitch is on its way and Judge fouls it off. You know Jim, there is a big college football game happening tonight between Florida and Oklahoma. I wonder how it’s going? Anyway, the pitch, and its ball four.
“And Johnson was shaken up on the play, it’s 2nd down”
“Felipe Franks, with no time on the clock. He heaves it deep…”
Top of the 9th in Boston. New York is down 11-3 but Judge is up to bat. Pitcher sets… time is called. You know Frank they say baseball is a timeless game. No clock whatsoever. Judge fixes his gloves and steps back in. The 1-2. The ball is in the air, back to centerfield, and it is caught 30 feet before the warning track for the 2nd out.
“That was a great catch by Cleveland to win the game for Florida football. So long from Gainesville”
“4th-and-goal from the one for LSU. One play to decide the game. Snap, the ball is handed off…”
Here is a video of Arron Judge when he has little playing Ken Griffey JR Baseball. We asked him before the game if he was able to watch Ken Griffey much growing up. He said not really but he would catch highlights of him watching Florida football games and having every Griffey at bat replayed during the game. Judge will be up to bat next when we come back.
“An all-time classic here in Baton Rouge as the Gators hold off the Tigers on the goal line.”
Let’s all be in agreement, ESPN needs to never do that again. Ever. If we want to watch a guy hit a home run, put it on one of the 63 different platforms you have at your disposal. Don’t interrupt our Florida football.
