B +. . . . JALEN KITNA

It is no secret that Billy Napier and company haven’t had full faith in the backup QB situation behind Anthony Richardson. With Jack Miller still out with a thumb injury, Jalen Kitna got the nod to replace Richardson in the third quarter.

Kitna ended the day 8-12 passing with 152 yards passing and one touchdown. The TD pass was as well thrown of a ball as one could ask as he hit Caleb Douglas on a beautiful back shoulder throw for a 62-yard touchdown.

More importantly, Kitna looked composed, had the offense in formation and ready for each play, and gave Gator fans at least some confidence that things might be okay should Anthony Richardson get hurt.

Kitna was a little late on his fourth-down check down to Trevor Etienne, resulting in a turnover on downs. But it was a solid outing and a 180 improvement from his Spring Game performance.
