NAY'QUAN WRIGHT. C+. . .

Nay’Quan Wright, coming off of a broken ankle in last year’s FSU game, was expected to be the lead guy in the Gators’ backfield this season. So far, however, he hasn’t made the impact he wants to.

He’s got 32 carries for 126 yards, giving him an average of 3.9 YPC. He rushed for a touchdown in the game against USF and has held onto the ball well, with zero fumbles so far.

This isn’t meant to be a knock on Wright at all. He still has great athleticism and elusiveness, he just hasn’t had that burst it takes to be a lead back in the SEC.

Wright will stay involved in the offense as the season progresses, but he’ll likely be behind Johnson and Etienne the rest of the way.
