A-. . . . MONTRELL JOHNSON JR.

Johnson, the transfer RB who came over from Louisiana with Napier, has had a great start to his career in Gainesville. He’s been the best running back in the room so far and is making some serious noise as a sophomore.

He’s averaging 7.8 yards a carry and has scored a touchdown in every game except for vs Kentucky. He did cough the ball up against Utah on the Gators’ opening drive, but has since made up for that blemish.

While he isn’t known for having breakaway speed, his longest carry on the season was against USF, where he took a 62-yard run to the house as the Gators narrowly beat the Bulls.

Overall, Johnson has been a fantastic addition to a run-heavy Gators offense. He’ll look to only improve as his career continues.
