C +. . . . SHEMAR JAMES

Going into the Tennessee game when the health of Ventrell Miller was still unknown, Shemar James was going to be the Gators’ only hope of having a respectable linebacker on the field.

James is a true freshman who hasn’t been light out per se, but he has generally been in the correct area and seems to have an idea of where plays are supposed to go. He has been a step slow at times to react to plays, but with time the signs are there that James is going to develop into a solid linebacker for Florida football.

Going forward, James is definitely more ready than Scooby Williams and one could argue that James should be seeing an increased snap count and should be taking more snaps away from Amari Burney.
