Florida football is getting the red carpet treatment on Saturday when it travels to Knoxville. ESPN’s College Gameday will be in town to rile up the crowd when Lee Corso inevitably puts on a Tennessee headgear.

The game itself gets the 3:30 CBS timeslot and with that gives us everyone’s favorite analyst Gary Danielson. The problem with Danielson is that he says things with such authority to give us the impression we aren’t supposed to question him, except so much of what he says week after week doesn’t match reality.

He’ll be joined by Brad Nessler, who is fine. He’s a solid enough commentator that doesn’t make fans throw things as often as Danielson.

Jenny Dell will be the sideline reporter. This is her first year in the role, though she has previous experience in the NFL and with the Boston Red Sox.

Florida football: In Tennessee, they have a season called Fall

At 8 AM on Saturday it’s going to be 55 degrees in Knoxville, TN with partly cloudy skies. Must be nice. Temperatures are going to rise to 78 degrees by kickoff, but there is no rain predicted in the forecast. Wind also shouldn’t be a factor beyond a 5 MPH breeze throughout the game.

Tennessee will welcome these conditions as rain would slow down their passing attack

Florida football: Injury report

The biggest question mark for Florida will be the health of linebacker Ventrell Miller. As we all saw last week, Florida’s defense looked lost without him on the field. Earlier in the week, coach Billy Napier seemed to indicate that Miller’s availability will be based around pain management rather than anything that would reaggravate it.

Right tackle Michael Tarquin and backup QB Jack Miller will still be out. Cornerback Jaydon Hill is now listed as probable and could see action.

On the Tennessee side, the main injury to watch will be the health of star WR Cedric Tillman. He suffered an ankle injury last week against Akron. Volunteers coach Josh Heupel said he is “hopeful” that Tillman can play.

Keep up with all things Florida football with Hail Florida Hail.
