With only two days left until Florida football travels up to Knoxville, it’s still clear that people like the Vols to beat the Gators for only the second time in 18 years.

Tennessee is -385 to win the game and favored by 10.5 points at home.

This does make sense given the past few weeks. UT’s offense looks elite, and the last two weeks have seen UF lose to Kentucky at home, and struggle against USF.

But all that is in the past. When toe meets leather on Saturday, it’s Gators vs Vols.

Today, we’ll take a look at where the smart money is for this game, and how to bet this marquee SEC matchup.

Florida football: Can the Gators cover?

Despite the series’ history, and the Gators still being a ranked team, they are +10.5 this weekend in Tennessee.

Sure, the Gators haven’t looked great outside of week one and Tennessee has an impressive win in Pittsburgh.

But Tennessee just can’t blow out the University of Florida. It’s not what they do.

If I can be totally honest, I really don’t think the Gators win this weekend. But they’ll cover for sure.

UF will control the tempo with the run game and limit Hendon Hooker’s chances to open the game up. I think the defense has a bounce-back game as well even without Ventrell Miller, and at least contains UT’s passing game.

Take the Gators +10.5.

Florida football: Shootout or slugfest?

The over/under for this game is 62.5 This is by far the highest total of any UF game this season, but I think it’s a good call to take the over.

This has the feeling of a 35-30 game for me. I said before I think the UF defense can contain UT’s passing game, and 35 points for UT isn’t a bad number at all from UF’s perspective.

I also believe that the Gators start to focus on giving Montrell Johnson and Trevor Etienne most of the carries, which will improve the offense. Using Nay’Quan Wright in the passing game will also add another element to what has been a weak spot in the Gator offense.

Both teams will have good offensive days and go punch for punch with one another.

Points will be scored and the game will be close. Take the over.

Keep up with Florida football at Hail Florida Hail.
