As we get closer and closer to Florida football’s week 3 matchup with USF, it’s time to take a look at where the smart money is, and how to bet on this game.

Last week for the Kentucky game, we correctly hit the under 52.5, but our pick for Florida to cover -5.5 failed horribly.

Heading into this week, the Gators are much larger favorites to win and go 2-1. They easily handled USF last year in Tampa, and with a dominant run game this season, it figures to be more of the same.

Let’s take a look at the best bets for this contest.

All odds via FanDuel, odds and lines are subject to change.

Florida football vs USF best bets week 3

For starters, let’s eliminate betting on the money line at all. UF is -4000 to win this game. There’s no logic in putting money down on that.

$100 will make you $2.50. Just don’t.

A much more appealing bet to me is UF to cover -24.5. The odds for that are -110. I like this bet for a couple of reasons.

Florida’s offense is going to be relentless on the ground in this one, and they’ll end just about every drive with some points.

On the other side, USF’s offense won’t be able to score much, if at all, on the Gators’ defense. I see the Gators opening up a 2-3 touchdown lead in the 2nd quarter, and then cruising along to a 30-point win.

The over/under has been increasing over the past few days, as it’s gone from 58.5 to 60.5 since Tuesday.

This surprised me. I personally like the under in this one. USF isn’t going to score a lot, and UF is going to be draining the clock down with their ground attack. I see this game finishing with a score of around 45-10, which would cash out the under.

Not to mention that UF’s first two games this season have also gone under the total projection.

So in summary, our best bets this weekend are Florida at -24.5, and under 60.5.

Happy betting!
