Florida football: Xavier Weaver has a career day

The first two ways Florida football could fall to USF are possible but have low probability. The most realistic way for USF to pull off the upset, while still not a high probability, is for receiver Xavier Weaver to have the game of his life.

Weaver is a respectable receiver that had over 700 yards receiving last season. In USF’s first two games this year he has 12 catches for 170 yards.

Weaver probably won’t get behind Florida’s defensive backs, in part because Bohanon tends to float his passes rather than drive through them. But Weaver is capable of winning a one-on-one jump ball situation.

If Weaver can manage two or three chunk plays early it may open up Florida’s defense to give the Bulls hope.
