Florida football: Florida vs USF predictions and odds for week 3
By Will Thomas
After last week’s tough loss to the Kentucky Wildcats, Florida football is turning the page and looking forward to their next opponent.
The USF Bulls are coming to town this weekend for a week 3 matchup. In last year’s game between Florida and USF, the Gators won handily but had a few bumps in the road.
This year, the Gators should be just as confident in coming out victorious. This week is a great opportunity for the entire team to rebound and get momentum going again before next week’s showdown in Knoxville.
Now we’ll look at the odds to this point for the Gators and Bulls and make a few predictions.
All odds via Fanduel, odds and lines are subject to change.
Florida football vs USF odds week 2
As expected, the Gators are the heavy favorite in this game. UF is favored -24.5, and the price of the Gators’ money line is -2500.
The money line is obviously something few people will bet on given its price, but the spread is a little more appealing. UF and USF are both -110 to respectively cover 24.5 points.
With what will likely be a heavy ground attack from the Gators, they likely won’t be scoring 50-60 points. So if you want to take UF to cover, you’ll have to rely on their defense.
Now, this isn’t a bad idea by any means. The Gator defense is a solid unit and should hold up well against an inferior team in USF.
Moving to the O/U, the line is currently sitting at 58.5, with odds of -118 to go over, and -104 to go under.
Again, with UF’s offense likely maxing out around 40-45 points, over bettors will need to trust USF to move the ball a few times.
Florida football vs USF predictions week 3
We’ll try and stay away from the obvious prediction that is UF to win outright. That’s lame.
We’ll get into more detail here in our best bets article later in the week, but I do like UF to cover, and the under at 58.5.
I don’t see USF being able to contain UF’s offense consistently, and with the Gators’ run game eating up the clock, this won’t be a shoot-out.
I also expect UF’s defense to bounce back and have a great day on Saturday, helping both the cover and the under.
Keep up with Florida football at Hail Florida Hail.
