Florida football keys to victory: The Swamp needs to be The Swamp

News alert, this is a home game for Florida. It may not be super hot, but it is going to be humid. More importantly, this will be the first time in a long time that Florida has opened the season at home against a Power-5 opponent.

Add in a 7 PM kickoff with an extended three-day weekend thanks to Labor Day, and the sold-out crowd on Saturday will have plenty of time to “prepare” for Utah.

Beyond all the normal clichés of crowd support providing energy for the Gators, crowd noise could be a very real factor in disrupting Utah’s offense.

Utah will be starting Paul Malie at center. While Malie saw some action last year at center, this will be his first time as a full-time center. As Florida learned last year against Kentucky, a new lineman against a rowdy crowd can lead to multiple false start and delay of game penalties.

If Utah can be forced into 1st and 15 situations with frequency, it might turn into a long night for the Utes.
