Florida football: Offensive line for Gators must keep Richardson upright
Josh Braun
If someone were to get hurt along the line, Josh Braun would probably be the next man up to fill the role.
Listed at 6-6, 351 pounds, Braun is the second heaviest offensive lineman on Florida’s roster. Because of that weight, Braun does struggle with mobility when acting as a pulling guard and struggles to get to his spot in time.
Braun has plenty of experience and started seven games for Florida last season, but there is a notable drop-off from the starters to Braun.
Richie Leonard IV
The sophomore out of Cocoa, FL saw action in eight games last season and started against Missouri at right guard.
Leonard is listed at 6-2, 318 pounds, making him the shortest offensive lineman on Florida’s roster.
Leonard certainly needs more reps before a definitive analysis can be made. In the Missouri game, he certainly looked like a guy making his first start as he seemed unsure of his assignments at times and was pushed backward far easier than some other guys.
Kamryn Waites
Kamryb Waites is a massive human being. Listed at 6-8, 373 pounds, he is by far Florida’s biggest offensive lineman overall.
Waites only appeared in three games at Louisiana as a freshman last year before coming over the Gainesville with Billy Napier.
Waites was unrated coming out of high school, but given his size and the fact that Billy Napier brought him along to Gainesville makes him someone to keep an eye on.
