Florida football running backs: Lorenzo Lingard

Lingard was the highest rated recruit out of any guy currently in the Gators RB room. Coming out of high school he was ranked as the 2nd best RB in the class of 2018, and 25th best player overall.

He transferred into UF after originally being at Miami, and is yet to burst out as a consistent carrier in the orange and blue.

In the 2021 season, where carries were relatively spread out among all the running backs (sigh) Lingard had 11 carries for 43 yards.

The ceiling for Lingard is a 1st round NFL pick. He has freakish athleticism and can pretty much do whatever he wants on the field.

Hopefully, now that he’s one of the more experienced guys in the room, we’ll get a chance to see all he can do on the field.
