Florida football defensive line: Desmond Watson

The Gators have the biggest guy on the planet in their defensive line room in Desmond Watson. Whenever he’s on the field he’s impossible to miss.

ESPN currently has Watson listed as 6’5”-415, but he’s dropped a few pounds of bad weight to help with his mobility. Even with the extra pounds he has quick hands and mobile feet, which allows him to maneuver into the backfield and swallow up ball carriers.

In limited action last season Watson had 7 tackles and 0.5 sacks. This year he’s poised to get a lot more snaps alongside Dexter on the inside, and will be a force in the trenches for Florida football.

Watson is the type of guy that strength coach Mark Hocke dreams of. A massive guy with a huge muscle upside. Expect Desmond to be a lot stronger and quicker this upcoming year, and for him to make some noise.
