Lloyd Summerall

There were high hopes for Summerall when he committed to Florida that he could develop into a mid-round NFL draft prospect.

The former four-star prospect out of Lakeland High was listed at 6-5, 220 pounds coming out of high school in the class of 2019.

Entering his fourth season in Gainesville, after entering the transfer portal but then removing himself, Summerall has yet to blossom into that potential.

He did see the field in 12 games last season, mostly on special teams.

His most meaningful playing time came in the Gasparilla Bowl against UCF, where he played mostly as a hand-to-the-ground edge rusher. He was credited with a .5 tackle in the game, but didn’t feel that impactful or that he was going to get around his opposing OT.

Of note, Summerall was listed at 247 pounds in 2021 and going into the 2022 season he is listed at 231 pounds. By dropping, on paper, 15 pounds Summerall is hoping to gain some more quickness this season.

And if he can figure out some technique to go with his 6-5 frame, Summerall can still blossom into the high level prospect many predicted he would become.
