Florida football: Looking at the safety group for 2022
By Will Thomas
Perkins was originally at Missouri after going through JUCO, but has now found his way to Gainesville to play for Florida football.
Perkins got very limited action last year, and was only able to total 22 tackles in the 2021 season.
This year, however, we could see Perkins make a much larger impact in the Gators’ secondary. If he’s able to add some muscle to his frame, he’ll have great size outside, and his overall experience playing football will be valuable to the younger guys in the room.
Perkins is the type of guy who will likely play behind Torrence II and Dean to start the year, but if he shows flashes there’s no reason he couldn’t elevate to a starting role.
