Ricky Pearsall listed as day-to-day
Pearsall, the wide receiver transfer from Arizona State, was feared to have suffered a significant foot injury that was going to keep him out for weeks.
We chronicled what Florida’s wide receiver group would look like without him.
In encouraging news, Pearsall’s foot injury is being listed as a bone bruise and it looks like he should be available for the opener versus Utah.
Pearsall was a practice on Thursday in a walking boot.
Soccer plays University of Tampa today
The women’s soccer team in Gainesville has had some ups and downs the last few seasons.
After program founder and longtime coach Becky Burleigh retired following the 2020 season, she was succeeded by Tony Amato.
He lasted one season before being fired.
So in steps Samantha Bohon to turn the ship around.
Bohon spent the past 15 years as the head coach at Embry-Riddle University, though she does have SEC experience as an assistant at Tennessee.
Florida will look to rebound from a 4-12-4 season, the worst season in Florida history.
The Gators played North Florida in an exhibition game on Tuesday and we’re victorious 2-0.
Sophie White and Syd Kennedy scored the goals for Florida.
The Gators will have another exhibition tuneup tonight against the University of Tampa at 6 PM.
Florida’s first official game is next Thursday at UCF.
Volleyball preseason camp has started
Florida volleyball made it to the Sweet 16 last season before falling to number one ranked Louisville.
The squad, still led by longtime coach Mary Wise, officially reported to Gainesville this week to open up preseason camp.
The Gators will open their season next Saturday (8/20) against Jacksonville for “Fan Day.”
Admission will be free.
