The Gatorsโ sophomore DB is one of the best corners in the SEC already, with only limited action in his freshman year. He had a team best completion rate as the primary defender at 36.8%, which was multiple points better than Kaiir Elamโs previous records.

Marshall, a 5 star recruit out of Miami, Florida, was a part of the โPalmetto Fiveโ, a group of highly touted recruits all out of Miami Palmetto. Corey Collier, another member of the five, also came to UF.
Marshall was ranked as the 2nd best CB in his class, and 29th best player overall. He chose the Gators over Miami when it was time to commit, a decision that Miami fans are still trying to cope with.
Despite his high ranking out of high school, he only appeared in 5 games last season. Part of that is because UF still had Kaiir Elam on the field, but also due to the previous coaching staff opting to play seniority over talent, limiting his contributions.
In those 5 games, Marshall totaled 23 tackles, 15 of which were solo, and got his first career interception against FSU.
Coming out of high school, Andrew Ivinsย said that Marshall is always โlooking to jam a wide receiver and disrupt timing.ย Does a nice job of mirroring routes downs the field.โ
The film backs all this up, as he was lock down in man coverage, and didnโt allow receivers much space when he was 1-on-1 with them.

Jason Marshall is next up in a long line of legendary Gator DBs. If youโre going to come play for DBU, you better be ready when your name is called, and Marshall has proven that heโs more than prepared for the SEC.
