On Tuesday afternoon, 5 star QB Jaden Rashada announced a Top 7 of Florida, LSU, Oregon, Miami, Ole Miss, Cal, and Texas A&M. He also set a commitment date for June 18.

Rashada is ranked on the 247 Sports Composite rankings as the 5th best QB in the class and 29th overall player.

Chris Singletary, a recruiting analyst for 247 Sports, said that Rashada “stands tall in the pocket” and “has a smooth and effortless throwing motion.” He did add that Rashada would benefit from adding some muscle mass to his frame, as it would increase his durability and ability to take hits.

So what are the odds that Rashada chooses to come play for Billy Napier and the Gators?

There has been a positive shift in momentum in the last 24 hours for UF, as Jaden announced he’d be taking an official visit to Gainesville sometime soon. He’ll also make OV stops at Texas A&M and LSU.

Rashada, when asked about his interest in UF, talked about how he believes in Coach Napier and QB analyst Ryan O’Hara, and in their abilities to put quarterbacks through to the next level. Having coaches on staff that top level recruits already trust is a great sign for things to come during the Napier era.

UF’s stiffest competition will likely be Miami and Ole Miss. Jaden has a great relationship with both coaching staffs, and has talked about how much he likes Lane Kiffin’s offense at Ole Miss, and also appreciates his coaching style.

It will be interesting to see how Napier recruits both Rashada and Arch Manning, who has also expressed interest in the Gators as of late. While schools do sometimes take multiple QBs in the same class, they are rarely both top 5 at their position.

Regardless of who UF ends up landing, the fact that Napier already has the Gators in play for 2 of the top 5 QBs in the class is a great sign of things to come for Florida recruiting.

Keep up with Gator football here.
