Over the weekend, Gators QB Anthony Richardson took his time to neither work on school or go over film, but to help out in his community. He decided to help a family move out, rather than spend his time relaxing.

Richardson has proven that he’s one of the most humble and selfless players on the Gators roster. On the field, he’e been a patient back up behind Emory Jones, and always supported Jones through the teams’ struggles last season.

Off the field, Richardson has done even more than just helping people move. He always goes out of his way to spend time with fans and never leaves anyone hanging.

Not every college athlete understands the impact that they have on the younger generation of fans, but Richardson does. This is what helps to make him a fan favorite in Gainesville. It’s not just what he can do on the field, but what he chooses to do off of it.

He doesn’t just interact with fans who can make it to games. He also has a great social media presence, and takes the time to acknowledge and talk to as many fans as he can.

Richardson is also involved with the Gator Collective, as he is one of their featured athletes. Fans can earn signed footballs from him, as well as buy his merchandise from his personal site, where he designs and sells his own clothes.

Like I said before, Richardson is a guy who just gets it. College athletes don’t only have the power to inspire younger people on the field, but their influence off of the field may be even more important.

Gator fans should be proud that Anthony Richardson decided to put on the orange and blue for his college career. He represents the logo with class, and is an incredible influence for the team, and young Gator fans across the country.

Keep up with Gator football here.
