Top 3 2023 RB lists Gators in his top 7 prospective teams

The #2 ranked running back in the 2023 class (according to 247Sports composite grading) Richard Young has listed the Florida Gators in his top 7 for recruitment.  Young was previously graded out as the top back in the 2023 class, however, has narrowly landed behind Rueben Owens as of this moment.  This is one of many top 2023 recruits to list Florida football in their top schools/have been extended offers, including:

Young would be an absolutely enormous addition to Florida football, to put it as simply as possible.  He has one of the longest highlight reels I have seen for any running back in recent memory and has been recruited by many of the top programs in the country.  Some other schools that have offered (outside his top 7) include Clemson, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Jackson State, LSU, etc.  Overall he has received a whopping 52 offers from an immense list of schools all across the nation, as everyone wants in on his talents.

In terms of what Richard does well as a prospect?  Nearly everything.  At 5’11” 200 pounds, he has an NFL-ready frame already, and what would you expect from a big-bodied strong running back?  Power and contact balance.  He excels in both of these departments, making one or two cuts and then powering through gaps, and stays on his feet through almost every type of contact possible.  Despite this nature, he is extremely quick, being a track runner in his high school career as well, and is able to create acceleration which makes him even scarier to get in front of.  He is also effective in the screen game and has strong hands which allow him to haul in passes and keep a hold of the ball.  Overall, he would be one of the most notable prospect additions for Florida football in quite a while.
