Yearly prospect drafted average & recent prospects

Now we move more to the side of things that explain how these colleges got to these amounts, and how they have been trending in recent years.  In the last two seasons, the draft has been dominated by the rivals of Florida, with Alabama being tied for the most picks in 2021 at 10 (with Ohio State), and then LSU absolutely obliterating the competition with a whopping 14 players drafted in 2020.  On the other hand, Florida had 8 players drafted in 2021, and 7 in 2020.

With this, Alabama has created more of a lead on Florida football in prospects drafted, and LSU has closed the gap to essentially none.  If we want to find out how many players the Gators have drafted yearly, we have to go back to the first NFL draft in 1936.  It has been 85 drafts since then, which means Florida would have roughly 4.28 players drafted a year, or 4 to be more on the safe side.  There are quite a few schools that do not get 4 players drafted a year in any given year, so having that amount yearly is impressive, to say the least, and bodes well for the Gators 2022 class.
