Cormani McClain – CB – Lake Gibson HS

Rank among ’23 cornerbacks: #1

The first cornerback with ties to Florida football is also the best corner in this class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.  That being Cormani McClain, who at the moment according to Crystal Ball has a 50/50 split percentage chance of being recruited by the Gators, or Alabama Crimson Tide.  McClain is being recruited by Corey Raymond (cornerbacks coach) and Patrick Toney (Co-DC) of the Florida Gators.  Cormani is also ranked the #3 prospect in the ’23 class regardless of position, making him even more valuable as a recruit.

What could Cormani bring to Florida football?  Pretty much everything you would ever want in a cornerback on the boundary.  In his two seasons in college, he has racked up a whopping 19, yes you heard that right, 19 interceptions.  Aside from the numbers though, he is a very quick corner who gets off the line extremely well (due to his initial position as a receiver).  He has a great build at 6’1.5″ 165 pounds and an absolutely astounding motor that drives him through every play nonstop.  Overall, there is a reason he is ranked so highly by many different HS scouts, and his game proves it.
