Team #1: Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Pick 27

Report:

The first team reportedly having met with the Florida football cornerback is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  The Super Bowl champions only two seasons ago have been desperately needing to bring in a cornerback, especially one as dominant as Elam.  With Carlton Davis slated to hit free agency, this is a prime opportunity to keep Kaiir in the state, and more importantly, get a lockdown #1 cornerback to bulk up the secondary.

If Carlton Davis leaves, you have his replacement by drafting Elam.  If he returns to Tampa, you have two phenomenal outside cornerbacks to work with and an extremely lethal secondary overall, pairing them with Antoine Winfield Jr.  While the Buccaneers do not focus heavily on man to man coverage, only utilizing it on 22% of plays in 2021, when they do it is mostly press based.  This is great for the development of Elam, who was phenomenal in press-man coverage, and due to his great athleticism and build would be a huge benefit to the Buccaneers defense.
